We have all had plenty of time over the last year to daydream about what we are going to do when life goes back to normal. After moving to Italy a year and 5 months ago, I have longed to explore Europe and take advantage of my time here. Luckily, I was able to explore Italy and see so much of its beauty, but all of this time in and out of quarantine has lead to the creation of a long list that I have dreamt up over the past year!
For those that don’t know, it is much cheaper to fly and travel over here in Europe than it is in the U.S. For example, before COVID hit, I was able to travel round trip from Rome to Barcelona for around 50 euros — that is unheard of in the U.S. and I am happy I got a little taste of it before things changed.
So, what is on my bucket list? I have spent a lot of time on Instagram and Google looking at photos and videos of beautiful vacations and destinations; I have a few legitimate, feasible destinations and then I have ones that I will have to keep daydreaming about until I win the lottery 😉
1.Paris, France

This summer I was able to go visit France for the first time and it was so beautiful! I visited Nice and Cannes and it was like walking through a dream. After that taste of France I haven’t stopped thinking about traveling to Paris. From shopping and museum hopping to sitting under the shimmering Eiffel Tower, I simply can’t wait!
2. London, England

The capital of England where you can witness royalty, the iconic Big Ben, and of course, tea time. Can you believe my mom’s side of the family is from England and I have never even been? I want to see where my family used to live in London and, of course, see the beautiful city itself!
3. Greece

The Instagram photos of Santorini and Athens and beautiful island spots kill me!! I haven’t seen a single photo of Greece that wasn’t stunning.
4. Canary Islands

So many people have recommended these islands that I have lost count. The breathtaking views are incredible.
5. Moscow

Talk about a fairytale! The architecture is so unique and colorful.
6. Bora Bora

Do I need to even comment about why I want to travel here? The color and clarity of the water can speak for itself. Warm & sunny weather, snorkeling, sipping cocktails on the beach… I could go on but I might cry!
7. Cliffs of Moher – Ireland

These cliffs are iconic and put you in a trance. So dreamy.
8. South Korea

I have never been to Asia before and it is something that I have longed to see for a while. I have heard so many great things about South Korea – especially the food! Modern skyscrapers, high-tech infrastructure, and palaces all in one place, I would love to witness it all myself.
9. Thailand

Elephants, warm climate, breathtaking views? Count me in!!
10. Iceland

Iceland is recently a more popular tourist destination. So many people are itching to see its dramatic landscape!
11. California

Believe it or not, I have never been to California – or even anywhere further west than Texas! I’ll need to visit one day.
13. Egypt

We have learned about the pyramids and ancient Egypt our whole lives, but to see it in person must be magnificent!
14. South Africa

Scenery, wildlife, sunny coast, need I go on? South Africa has a little bit of everything and I would love to explore it.
15.Dubai

Remember the Jetsons? This city reminds me of what we all imagined the world would look like in the future — minus the flying cars. The manmade beauty and the culture this city embraces is intriguing and fantastic.
16. Istanbul

If you know me, you know I love to see and explore pieces of history. This city holds so much history and wonder — you can’t help but think of all of the people that have lived/explored there before you and how much life has changed over the centuries.
17. Kenya

I have ALWAYS wanted to see the beauty of Africa and to experience the culture and scenery there. Wildlife exploration and safaris would definitely be on the top of my itinerary!
18. Peru

As you know, I live in Rome. I am blessed to say that I get to witness one of the 7 wonders of the world whenever I want. That being said, it has left me wanting more — I want to see all 7 in my lifetime and Machu Picchu so fantastical, I just need to see it with my own eyes!
There is so much of the world to see and if this past year has proved anything, it’s that I will always long to be where I am not — I have such a travel bug!!
What else would you add to this list? What is on your own bucket list?? Comment below so we can daydream together! 🙂
